A big Monday for surrendering to being a student.

The systems I so dreamed up yesterday played a good hand in making my Monday a good one. The biggest hope for the day was to feel accomplishment, do the work that needed to be done for the family, and find some independent study time for me. I'm glad to say that those things came to fruition.

The day started off with a good meeting with Jenn who is hiring me to help her design systems that she can use for being able to use her newly designed website on her own. I am seeing that more and more frequently, people paying for new website designs and then they are left with something they can't use and thus starts another cycle of paying someone else again. I am passionate about helping people be confident in the technology they are using - something that I should consider for myself with my app project. I should want to gift myself that same confidence.

That meeting was followed by a meeting with Ivan. Given the meeting prior, I was quite anxious, but as soon as we started talking something came over me. It was like I finally gave in and understood the path forward for me writing code. Ivan has some innate ability to be a sage and inspire me to study. I think it's because I can see a flame of curiosity inside of him that I deeply relate to. One of the things that was helpful was clarifying that it is really front-end development. I am such a visual person that I am inspired to take my heartfelt mockups on Canva and actually be able to build them into code that could actually be used in the project - and that feels really, really exciting to me!

The rest of the day was filled with Maw time, going to the gym, dinner at home, and some time spent on the computer. My social battery is feeling good today with talking to Noam, Kristen, and Jesse today. Oh yeah, third time was a charm, and I had another dream about Justin last night. I am glad that I still tried to read last night before bed and I'll do the same tonight. I continue to listen to the "Show Your Work" audiobook and that has been really enjoyable. I am thankful for the React tutorial that I found tonight, it spoke to me in the beginners way that I needed. It would be the thing that I'd directly share from today.
